About me

I have a background in history, having been trained as a historian. After several years working as a research assistant at the University of Groningen, I transitioned to the corporate world. Within Capgemini, I worked as a consultant for various companies, primarily focusing on change management. In 2007, I made the move to a small but prestigious Amsterdam-based consulting firm, De Galan & Voigt, eventually deciding in 2009 to embark on a journey as an independent consultant and coach.

All these steps have brought me to where I am now. I am happy with what I have achieved so far and strive to continually keep on developing myself further. Almost daily, I realize how much I enjoy working with inspiring and talented professionals, operating in captivating organizations and contexts.

In recent years, my focus in both my work and professional development has been primarily on the development of emotional intelligence. It's an incredibly fascinating and valuable area, with much yet to be discovered—both for neuroscientists and psychologists, and for me and the people and organizations I work with.

In today's landscape, emotional intelligence and its associated traits—such as self-awareness, resilience, empathy, and stress management—are vital assets for organizations.
